The Community Matters scheme is run at the Waitrose branches in support of the local charities and community groups within their trading area. It also allows the customers to participate in investment decision-making and become the benefactors at no extra cost.

The shopping is transformed from a chore into a feel good experience when customers are presented with an opportunity to express their preferences to their local organisations. Simply by placing a token or a green coin, given at the checkout, in the box for the relevant cause shoppers choose which community group they wish to support providing a much needed help.

The amount of £1,000 will be available at the end of this month, which will be divided proportionally between the HDA and other two non-for-profit organisations.

We are very grateful to all our supporters, friends and members of the general public who donate green coins at Marylebone store and help our doctors carry on seeing patients in medical difficulties free of charge.

We’re still developing the website so you’ll continue to see some changes over the coming months. When it’s finished we want the new website to be the centre point of the HDA. It will provide patients with all of the information they need about the HDA before they contact us for help and will provide potential sponsors with all of the information they need to make an informed decision about supporting us.
